Mayan Riviera Wedding Teaser

Monday, February 8th, 2010

Bo ya! I beat the winter cold and headed to Cancun Mexico for a fantastic wedding shoot on the beach, near the palm trees, in the sand…it was fabulous. Blake is still jealous, despite the fact that I did come back looking like something served at Red Lobster. I couldn’t say more about Amy (from St. George, UT) and Jeff (from Los Angeles, CA). They were married at The Grand Mayan Resort (aka Mayan Palace) on the beach with a couple friends present. Enjoy this teaser…more to come.

Jamie’s Bridal Photography: Layton Utah

Tuesday, December 1st, 2009

Okay…technically this is my second post here on the 54 blog. Blake ripped me on my first post for being too ‘business formal’ in my writing style and so I gutted it and became self conscious about how I ‘sound’ when I write. I blame the formality on Joel Addams (happens to be a great photographer) and his Managerial Communications class at Weber State University several years back. With that said and in the spirit of informal writing, here we go…on with the post.

Jamie was great to work with during this bridal session and I LOVE the pink ‘Jessica Simpson’ boots she brought along. She must have known that we love pink here at Photo 54. Nature did us a favor by getting ready for the shoot too as the leaves just started turning golden brown and red. We couldn’t have asked for a more beautiful and colorful shoot.

These are some of my favorite shots of Jamie. I especially like the ones of her in the swing…they are amazing.

Ciara’s Bridals: Ogden Utah

Thursday, November 19th, 2009

I’ve had some ideas bouncing around my head for a while now.  Something different than my usual style of photography.  All I needed was someone willing to give it a shot.  Enter Ciara.

Ciara is a good friend and a fellow photographer (Check out her work at Fancy Bred Photography). I practically begged Ciara to be my subject.  Luckily she felt sorry for me (I tried to sound as desperate as possible), and agreed.  She even went so far to tell me that she was excited to wear her wedding dress again, since she has been married for a couple of years now.

This was such a fun shoot even though I nearly got hit by a car.  Hey, the shot was worth it.

One thing you have to remember about Ciara and her husband Brett is that they are ridiculously skilled at the board game Sequence.  They consistently beat us when we last played, even though I stacked the deck.  Seriously.
