Rexburg Idaho Temple Wedding – Devin and Whitney

Monday, May 24th, 2010

Here is a quick part two of Devin and Whitney’s Rexburg Idaho wedding. I couldn’t resist getting a couple good all natural shots of the temple…it was gorgeous. One thing Blake didn’t mention in his post is that it was freezing cold that day. I don’t know why mother nature feels the need to continue a winter’s butt-whoopin’ on us, but I’m getting tired of it. It’s nearly June and it looks like it’s about to snow outside right now. Okay…I’m done with my weather rant.

Devin and Whitney were a great couple to shoot. Apparently it was the end of the semester at BYU-Idaho that day. If the girls weren’t wearing caps and gowns, they were wearing wedding dresses (haha). My sincere congrats to this fine young couple and best wishes throughout their schooling. Enjoy these few shots:

Devin and Whitney : Rexburg Idaho

Saturday, May 8th, 2010

Bryant and I were very excited for the opportunity to shoot Devin and Whitney’s wedding.  Their wedding was the first we’ve photographed at the Rexburg Idaho LDS temple.  Even though it was our first in Rexburg, it was such an amazing experience.  Devin and Whitney were pretty much rock stars.

One of my favorite parts about shooting a wedding is playing around with the artistic edits afterward.   You’ll notice that many of these are edited, and some have been edited a couple of different ways.  I’ll admit, I just couldn’t decide which I liked best, so I put them both up.  In case you were curious, when our clients get digital copies of the images, they get both the artistic edits, and the standard color corrected pictures.  What can I say, that’s how we roll.

WPPI Wedding Fashion Show Photography

Tuesday, March 16th, 2010

We arrived home from WPPI late last week.  Since this was my first time going to WPPI and my second time going to Las Vegas, it was quite the experience.  For me, the best part about attending WPPI was spending 5 kid free days with my wife.  I absolutely love my 3 children, but this was the first time we had spent an extended period of time just as husband and wife since our first child was born about 4 years ago!

The first day we were in Vegas, my wife noticed that there was going to be a fashion show.  I told her I didn’t want to go.  Guys just don’t go to fashion shows, especially guys that grew up in a small farming community!  Everyone would think I’ve gone soft!  Well, I lost that argument, and I’m so glad that I did.  It ended up being one of my favorite events at WPPI.  Since I’ve never done runway photography, it was a fun challenge.  To make matters more interesting there were about 60 other photographers fighting for the best position to get pictures.

Here are some of my favorites.  Which do you like the best?

Vandi’s Winter Bridal Photography: Star Valley Wyoming

Tuesday, March 2nd, 2010

Was it brisk?  Yeah, it was really brisk, but I was prepared.  Gloves, hat, winter coat, hand warmers.  If you live in an area that gets snow, you know the drill. Who would go out unprepared?  I certainly wouldn’t.  Especially when the temperature gets down to the single digits.  You’d have to be a little bit crazy to go out in the cold in just a wedding gown.  Unless . . . you want to get some amazing winter wedding photos.

Vandi happens to be my little sister. People used to say that we look alike. I used to get offended and assume that I looked like a girl.  This is one of the reasons that you’ll often find me sporting some sort of facial hair now-a-days.  Even though she is already married, the fact that she never had bridals prompted this winter wedding photo shoot over our Christmas vacation in Star Valley.  It was literally so cold that we only spent about 30 minutes shooting pictures.  That was including time sitting in the constantly running car to warm up every few minutes.

We had a ton of fun, and captured some awesome images.

Amy & Jeff’s Mayan Riviera Wedding in Cancun Mexico

Wednesday, February 10th, 2010

Well, here is our Cancun Mexico wedding shoot with Amy and Jeff. We had so much fun shooting in Mexico and made some wonderful friends. Jeff is an amazing home architect and has designed several homes for many of Hollywood’s elite. Amy is a real estate extraordinaire in St. George, UT, and happened to meet Jeff during the Parade of Homes (of which Jeff had designed several of the homes). The two are a fantastic couple and are so in love with each other. Here are some of my favorite shots of the weekend in Mexico. I can’t wait for the reception in April. Enjoy!
